You just looking for a 1/2 ton? Personally, I'd go with a Dodge 2500 stick shift Cummins. I see them for between $13K and $20K. This one's in Colorado, so it's about 600 miles away, but it's an example of a decent truck for $15K:

EDIT: Looking at cars while tired is not good I guess. Didn't notice the damage and salvage. My bad...

My Titan shits on all of em'... I gave the F150 to my dad.
F150 drives like shit and is nowhere near as comfortable as my Titan.
Forget Diesel Fords, 6.0Ls are GARBAGE. I mean TERRIBLE...
If you want a diesel, get a Dodge Cummins , if you want gas, get an import.
Lightnings are great trucks if you want sport and only 2 seats.

He has both... do you?
BTW, we're talking about '04's, not the newer trucks.
I believe the Titan statement. I had an '04 S/C Frontier and aside from the gas mileage, that thing was awesome. I've also driven the new Frontier and I'd take it over any other small truck.

I agree with this statement, however, I think right now this country needs alittle protectionism to help bring jobs back to this country.

WTF, I haven't even posted in this thread.
I haven't owned an F150 or a Titan, although I do drive an Armada on a daily basis.
I would rather have an F150 but that is my opinion not based on any numbers, it's just based on my personal experience with the general build quality of Nissan vs Ford.
Frankly, if you're going to look at power the Ford loses against pretty much everybody, but that isn't going to affect my decision on what I would get.
Oh also, as far as diesels, although I don't think the op was talking about heavy duty trucks, the only diesel that Ford had problems with was the 6.0, the others are pretty solid engines and the new 6.7L looks like it's going to be a monster.
The Cummins is a better engine than the 6.0 for sure, but it's too bad it's wrapped in a piece of crap.
I was always around GM trucks when I was growing up and while they have excellent engines, they just always seemed to fall apart under the abuse my family put them through.
Those are just my thoughts, I can't speak to the Tundra other than be careful with the first model year after they came out with the new body style because they had some serious engine issues, I do think those have been resolved since then, though.
Basically what it boils down to in my opinion, is that if you really care about the horsepower numbers, get something else, if you care about everything else, get a Ford.

OT alert:
When talking about widgets and clothes, I agree 100%. Hence the reason you couldn't drag me into a WalMart. However, in the automotive industry, there really are no "imports" or "domestics" any more.
