Why is this even a comparison?

2010 SS vs 2011 or 2012 GT I'd be interested in...

Yeah, the 14.4 I can see a stock GT doing. But the 15 sec SS, that's just poor driving. If it was an auto, that's severely a tragic run. I'm with Art on this one.

12s at sea level yes but there is no fvckin way in hell that car can run even hi 13s especially here in vegas. Track is shitty. Even if its an auto thats very sad. Stock Mustang GT( New Edge) runs 15.2s bone stock with 260 flywheel hp.

A friend of mine has a 2008 G8 GT with...

"New Era intake, weld in x-pipe with Magnaflow mufflers (stock crush bent pipes), and HPTuners"

... and last year he ran a 13.38 @ 104 with a 2.0 60 foot.

If you don't think the 2010 Camaro which is the same chasis and suspension, with a 6 speed and another 50 horsepower peak and a much stronger under the curve power can run a deep 13 - you are retarded.

Ummm, are you saying that the new camaro SS can not run high 13's in Vegas.

Would you agree with me that the new Camaro SS is around a half a second faster int eh 1/4 than the S197 GT?

I ran 13's in my bone stock S197, right down to the tires.

Given some time and Stock Camaros will be running 13.5's here, and 12's with bolt-ons.

I was reffering to the automatic SS. As for the times that are claimed by Car and Driver its all bunch of BS. Unless I see the car run at the track and pull some good times then Ill be a believer.

Truth my brother, the video wasn't falsified. The SS got smashed by that GT by over a half second.

It had nothing to do with the GT being the better car.. although to be politically correct, in my opinion I think the GT is the better car over the SS.. the SS got smashed because it had a lousy driver.

You run 14.1's. If you honestly feel the SS is a 15 second 420hp $40,000 pile, like the Challenger, I say put your money where your mouth is. Just make sure you have someone get video. (I'll run the camera)

If you really want to, I know a guy at work that has a SS, maybe we can arrange something.

Exactly MY point.

The 2010 SS Totally stock has 50 horsepower more, and almost 75 horsepower under the curve, than that modded 13.30 G8 GT.

Yeah bring it out man to the track I would love to see that thing run fast as they claim it would. Maybe we can wink.gif. Track and street are way opposite and you kno all about it man. You've been there with your car. For 40,000 bucks thats not much you're geting for the car runing 15s.

I'll have spent roughly $32k on mine once payments are finished (this includes extra payments to knock the shit out of the interest).

For $32k I've run 15.8's in my car stock. I've also run 14.1's on days where I felt more on my game and knew my car better. Now I dished out almost $2k in mods and I run a 13.89... once.. $2k for barely 3 tenths of a second better times?

The car is capable. The driver is not. I'll get better on the track with practice and Mikey's tires.. so will the dumbass in the 2010 SS. I still think the SS is garbage, but you've got to respect the rape-pricing of GM sport models. I'll take a GT any day over a SS and take the difference in cost and spank the unholy pig $hit out of it in mods, N/A only.. just to make it fair. Otherwise if people want to cry "stock for stock" then they need to class it correctly, and line it up to a GT500, not a GT. I quote Swoosh, none of it will matter in 2011 anyway..

You wouldn't run a 13.60 in death valley.

385 RWHP is 12's in Vegas all damn day long homie. Even with the weight of that car.

FWIW the 13.30 G8 put 311 to the tires.....

Says the totally 100% stock 03/04 Cobras that are running 12.90/13.00 out here with less than that.

Says the 310 RWHP 13.30 G8 that ran out there (read: same weight as Camaro, same suspension as camaro, but with an AUTO!)

Says the 390 RWHP Roush we all know that went 12.60 out here in JULY!

Your wrong, just let it go.

MY results above are based on REAL WORLD EXAMPLES of things that have ACTUALLY HAPPENED, yours are based on shit you think WONT happen.

Just because SOME guys can't drive, have mechanical issues, whatever - you say automaticly every car is a 15 second car.

How about you, why are you in the 14's when my 04 GT with less mods was in the 13.7/13.8 at 103mph in fvcking AUGUST HEAT ? Hell I went out on a 115º day WITH Mikey in the car and hotlapped it over and over and was STILL running 14.0/14.1 and the engine was almost overheating, oh yea we drove to Pahrump and back and fvcked around out at spring mountain raceway the same day! You have more mods and more power than I did...... Put your excuse book away youngsta, you have alot to learn still.

As for my 15 second goat, how confident are you in those passes? Keep in mind that the same week totally stock, Frankies truck only put about 1 car on me, and he was mid/deep 12's... So really how confident are you in that 15 second slip? You should not speak until you know the whole story. HINT: Those passes ALL had 3.5 - 3.8 60 foot times, and not because I was frying the tires.

I'll give you 2 cars AND the move with my slipping clutch, fvcked up posi, and ununed no MAF sputtering backfiring motor and you will STILL have a nice view of my ebay tiallights and my crooked exhaust tips.

Tell you what, just so I don't hear the "you have a big motor" or the "I have a 176,000 rpm stall from an F450 Powerstroke" excuses I'll give you the go, put my sparkplugs in, THEN run you down.

YOUR FATHER, out!
